Text Box: The days of physicians who make house calls may be in the past, but the idea of being treated in the comfort and security of your own home certainly hasn't died out.  With ever decreasing hospital stays, and ever increasing demands on family members and friends to care for a recovering patient, more people than ever are turning to Home Care.
Home Health Care services are typically covered 100% by both Medicare and Medicaid.  Often private insurance companies will cover limited visits as well, although it is always best to check your policy for any required pre-certifications, co-pays, or deductibles.
Gulf City Home Care offers a variety of services to meet your physical needs with an emphasis on creating peace of mind for our clients and their families.
Our Nurses provide traditional nursing care, as well as treatment for wounds, dressing changes, IV set ups, instructions on medications, and training for family members who are able to assist.
Our Home Health Aides provide assistance for patients who are struggling with basic daily movements such as getting in and out of bed, walking around, dressing, toileting, and bathing.
Our Physical Therapists provide instruction and exercise treatments to help patients regain strength and independent mobility.  They may also educate patients families on techniques for safe lifting and transferring if the patient needs help when an nurse or aide is not on duty.
Our Occupational Therapists provide patients with new skills for coping with day to day living even with physical limitations.  Occupational Therapists may also train patients on how to get around their homes safely with a walking device.
Our Speech Therapists work with patients who are suffering from speech loss as a result of disease, surgical procedures, or after suffering from a stroke.
Our Social Workers are often called out to the home to assess the patients needs and recommend other community resources that may prove valuable to the patient and family. They are able to put the patients, as well as family care givers, in touch with programs that will maximize the patients recovery and future wellbeing.  Social Workers may also provide basic counseling to help patients and family members adjust to the demands of at home care.
